In the new B-Class model B 170 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY you can literally give it more gas, because by simply pressing a button on the multifunction steering wheel, you can change from petrol to natural gas operation - even while the vehicle is moving. This has both solid economic and ecological advantages: natural gas can be used directly as fuel, without first having to undergo an environmentally harmful refining process. In addition, the CO2 emissions are about 23 percent lower than when operating on petrol. And this 4-cylinder petrol engine is a top performer not only in terms of ecology: the 85 kW (116 hp) and 165 Nm torque it delivers are impressive, too.
(B 200 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY: fuel consumption combined: natural gas 4.9–5.1 kg/100 km, petrol 7.3–7.6 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: natural gas 135–139 g/km, petrol 175–181 g/km)[1]
