For high performance with low consumption, you can count on the common-rail diesel engines of the A-Class. Their figures speak for themselves, and this is where the A 160 CDI Coupé does particularly well in terms of economy: the environmental institute Öko-Trend awarded it the Automobile Environmental Certificate 2007 as “one of the most environmentally friendly vehicles with a conventional engine”. In comprehensive tests the engine made an impressive showing with its excellent figures for fuel consumption and exhaust and noise emissions – 60 kW (82 hp) with a maximum torque of 180 Nm at 1400 to 2600/min and average consumption of 4.9 to 5.2 litres per 100 km. The A 160 CDI Coupé with manual transmission has been enhanced in numerous key areas to further reduce fuel consumption to as low as 4.5 litres per 100 km. This engine version will be available as the A 160 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY from September 2008.
The A 180 CDI is ready to go with 80 kW (109 hp) and 250 Nm at 1600 to 2600/min. Thanks to its 103 kW (140 hp) and a torque of 300 Nm at 1600 to 3000/min (in conjunction with the transmission AUTOTRONIC 280 Nm), with this top model you'll have only one thing on your mind: your next drive.
