Our younger visitors were certainly a key consideration when it came to designing the museum. So you’ll find specific services geared to them in the disparate areas. If, for instance, you want to take your family to eat in the restaurant, there is an option for the under-8s for €1. And you’ll also find high chairs and jars of baby food for our youngest visitors.
We also provide children and teenagers with a special version of the audio guide in German and English they can listen to while walking around the museum.
Offers for school parties
The Museum Club caters for the special requirements of school groups. In addition to the facilities, there is teaching material for teachers and students. The Club is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm exclusively for school groups, offering seating for meals and separate cloakrooms. School groups receive a personal welcome (provided a reservation has been made in advance). They are given a personal introduction to their visit and shown a film in keeping with their age category. This helps them to get the most out of their tour of the exhibition, which is supervised by the teachers. Teaching staff are provided with teaching material prior to their visit, enabling them to prepare teaching sessions on special topics, which can be explained in greater detail when looking at selected exhibits on the tour. This material is developed on the basis of the curricula of the German state of Baden-Württemberg and adapted to school children aged between six and sixteen. The teaching material can be requested free of charge when making a reservation via the hotline +49 711 / 17 30 000.
